Magical, Mysterious, Harry Potter Tours

Harry Potter Tour

Enjoy a spell-binding 2 hour walking tour of Edinburgh where the ancient buildings with their cramped closes and creepy courtyards were the inspiration for J K ROWLING’S world famous Harry Potter tales.

Visit  the gruesome graveyard where some of the memorials influenced the names of her characters.    See the café, overlooked by Edinburgh Castle where the author began scribbling notes while taking a break from her job as a cleaner.  Walk down the colourful curved street which was the prototype for Diagon Alley.  And visit the 5-star Balmoral Hotel where J K Rowling finished the last chapter of “The Deathly Hallows “while occupying a suite in 2007.

From Edinburgh I will take you south of the Border to Hogwart’s School of Witchcraft (alias Alnwick Castle) where you can grab a broomstick to do a flying lesson near the towering defensive  walls of the medieval building or watch with awe as Hagrid and Harry perform magic in front of your very eyes (May-October)

Back in Scotland we head to the West Highlands to take a once-in-a-lifetime train ride on Hogwart’s Express which crosses the famous  Glenfinnan Viaduct where the Ford Anglia flew overhead in “The  Chamber of Secrets.”  You will also have the chance to admire some of the spectacular scenery in Glencoe and Glen Nevis where many of the Potter films were shot.
Please note the train may not run every day because of private bookings)
